Win on Waste started life as a local recycling project from Ideas2Action in 2014. Our first session at Canford Heath began with a small selection of hard-to-recycle items being collected on behalf of local charities, and our network grew to 19 sessions that took 3,400 bags of recyclable waste out of landfill and kerbside collections between November 2019 and March 2020.
Currently, our Win on Waste sessions are suspended due to Covid-19, but we are still working hard to direct waste toward good causes with our Directories.
Although the list below features 17 sessions, as you will see from the map, we will be running only two sessions in June (Wimborne and Ashley Road). We hope, before long, to have our map full of pins again, as our sessions re-open!
Ashley Cross
The Ashley Cross session is held on the last Saturday of the month at Parkstone Library from 10.30 to 12pm. The session is run by Dave and Barbara.
Ashley Road
The Ashley Road session takes place on the second Saturday of the month at the Co-op in Ashley Road, from 10.30 to 12pm.
It’s run by our Ambassador, Millie with help from Harriet, Jade (the Co-op community worker), Sarah and Sarah.
Broadstone
Broadstone Win on Waste runs on the first Saturday of the month at Broadstone Library between 10 and 11am and is run by Vikki Slade and our other Ambassadors, Jane, Jill, Steph and Yvonne.
Broadstone is one of the fastest growing Win on Waste sessions and topped 100 for the first time for the number of people donating.
Canford Heath
Run on the second Saturday of the month from 10-11 at the Lounge One Café, Canford Heath Win on Waste was our first pilot session in 2014.
This session is organised by Monique and Nick with help from Laura, Sarah and Joanne.
Christchurch
Our Christchurch session is run on the first Saturday of the month from 10-12 at Christchurch Library.
Gina co-ordinates and the helpers include some of our Ambassadors from Southbourne as well as Christchurch helpers, Charlene, Michael, Mike, Lesley, Erica.
Corfe Mullen
Run on the second Saturday of the month at Corfe Mullen Library 10.30-12pm, by Susan and Mike.
Creekmoor
Run on the second Saturday of the month from 11.30-12.30 at Creekmoor Library and is organised by Monique and Nick with Ambassadors Katrina and Jane, helped by Lisa and her 2 children.
Hamworthy
Our Hamworthy session is run on the first Saturday of the month at Hamworthy Library from 11-12pm. This is run by Marion with help from Ragen and Linda.
Kinson
The Kinson session is run on the last Saturday of the month at Kinson Library between 10.30 and 11.30. It is run by Laura and Joanne, with help from Mel.
Lytchett Matravers
Our session in Lytchett Matravers is run by Alex on the first Saturday of the month, between 10.00 and 11.00 at the library.
Merley
The Merley Win on Waste session is run on the third Saturday of the month at the Lantern Church in Merley by our Ambassadors Marion and Richard who are helped by Ness.
Oakdale
Our session in Oakdale is run on the third Saturday of the month at Oakdale Library from 10.30-12pm. It is organised by Monique/Nick with help from Ambassador Mar.

Southbourne
Win on Waste Southbourne runs on the third Saturday of the month at Southbourne Library from 10.30-12pm. The session is run by Ambassadors, Debbie, Rachel, Sammy and Gina, with help from Kelly, Josie and Kate.
Upton
Our Upton session is run by Alex on the first Saturday of the month, between 11.00 and 12pm at Upton Library.
Westbourne
Our session at Westbourne is run on the last Saturday of the month at Westbourne Library from 10-11am and is organised by Monique and Nick with help from Janet, Michael and Paul.
Wimborne
Wimborne Win on Waste sessions take place at the Allendale Centre on the first Saturday of the month between 10.30am and 12 noon. Our Ambassador for Wimborne is Linda.
